Frequently Asked Questions

We do not have an hourly rate and instead charge our clients a fixed rate for our services. We believe this offers better value to our customers. It ensures the client knows what they will receive and for what price. This helps keep projects within budget. A project charged for by the hour could continue to run up costs for the client without accomplishing their goals.

If you don’t have the necessary software on your device we recommend using smallpdf.com/sign-pdf to complete and sign any digital documents we send you. This is an easy to use tool that enables you to directly edit PDFs in your web browser. You can add text boxes to fill in any required information and write your signature.

Websites

All of our websites are designed and built using WordPress.

WordPress is an open source content management software that is constantly growing from strength to strength. The community of developers and designers that use WordPress reaches far and wide. This means we can access a broad range of collective knowledge and bring a wealth of experience to our projects. The wide use and versatility of WordPress allows us to develop flexible and customisable websites to modern standards and web development best practices. It is estimated that over a third of all websites use WordPress, this is a testament to its reliability and quality.

We charge an additional fee for changes and additions made to websites after they have been considered to have been completed. This includes adding new pages, amending content, implementing new features and making alterations to the design.

As a courtesy we may complete what could be considered small but essential amendments for free. These are infrequent and often unavoidable changes that may occur as your business evolves. These changes could include updating your opening hours, changing your contact details, amending an inaccuracy in your terms and conditions, or removing a page that is no longer needed.

The landscape of web browsers and devices changes frequently and our approach is to look forward and not back. With that in mind we tend to test our websites using modern browsers and devices.

Users of older or less capable browsers or devices will experience a design that is appropriate to the capabilities of their software, and this may differ to the experience offered when using more modern technology.

We do not test using old or abandoned browsers, can’t predict the behaviour of these browsers, and don’t cater for those using them. If you need us to consider older browsers please let us know but be aware that there may be an extra charge for additional design work, development and testing.

When, where, and for what terms you appear for on Google depends on a number of factors. It can depend on the search phrase being used, the user’s location, the device they are using, the number of other websites that are available, the authority of your domain name, along with various other factors.

Nobody can truly predict or guarantee your website’s search engine ranking (including those who work for search engines). Despite this there are a number of factors that can improve your chances. You can talk to us if you would like to discuss this further.

Timescales vary on a project to project basis, however most of our websites are usually designed and built within a month. This will also depend upon your own input and responses.

If you have a specific timescale in mind please let us know.

Hosting

Our hosting platform is built on premium cloud infrastructure. Our providers are known for maintaining one of the fastest and most powerful networks using the latest modern hardware with SSD persistent storage.

Our hosting provider is a multi award winner and comes officially recommended by WordPress, the content management system we use to build all our websites.

Our backups are stored in a different country to where the live website is hosted. In the extremely unlikely event something happens, such as a natural disaster, power cut, or fire, to the location hosting your website, we will be able to restore your website from this remote location.
